The Gold Standard in
For Diabetes Testing, Hemoglobinopathy Testing,
and Quality Control
The Choice of Experts
Bio-Rad offers clinical diagnostic laboratories a wide range of hemoglobin testing systems, reagents and quality controls to optimize testing workflows and provide quality results.
Our Commitment to Hemoglobinopathy Testing
In addition to being the choice of experts for over 25 years, Bio-Rad is committed to raising awareness about hemoglobinopathies like thalassemia and sickle cell to supporting prevention, awareness, and population screening programs. Bio-Rad believes in sharing our knowledge and has dedicated resources to build and maintain a digital database of hemoglobin variant case studies.
A reference HPLC system used in many laboratories for the analysis of normal hemoglobins and as an aid in the identification of abnormal hemoglobins.
Compact, fully automated HPLC system allows small laboratories to test with an easy switch: HbA1c and β-thalassemia.
Established worldwide standard in automated newborn screening for sickle cell disease.
The First Reference Library of Shared HPLC Cases
The Bio-Rad Library of Variants contains case reports of hemoglobin variants provided by a select group of reference centers within the worldwide community of laboratories actively working on detection of sickle cell, thalassemia, and other hemoglobinopathies.
Hemoglobinopathy Testing Systems
Bio-Rad hemoglobinopathy testing systems have been the choice of experts for over 25 years. We will continue to partner with experts in this field to advance technology and patient care.
VARIANT II Beta-Thal Short Program is an icon in β-thalassemia testing. After more than 25 years it is still the method of choice for expert reference centers. It is used for quantification of HbA2 and HbF and as an aid in the identification of common hemoglobin variants: HbS, HbC, HbD, and HbE.
For full automation and breadth of menu, choose the VARIANT II Hemoglobin Testing System. This multi-analyte system offers a β-thalassemia Program as well as a Dual Program with short and extended modes of operation requiring no change of column or buffers. The VARIANT II menu also includes HbA1c for diabetes testing.
D-10 Dual Program for diabetes and thalassemia testing is an all in one kit for use on a small, compact, fully automated analyzer.
The extended method of the Dual Program allows accurate quantification of HbF, HbA1c and HbA2 along with detection of common hemoglobin variants: HbS, HbC, HbD, and HbE.
For full automation, comprehensive menu and a small footprint, choose the D-10 Hemoglobin Testing System. The D-10 System offers a Dual Program for HbA1c and β-thalassemia testing with short and extended modes of operation requiring no change of cartridge or buffers.
For added throughput, the D-10 Rack Loader expands the D-10 System sample capacity from 10 to 50 samples per run.
VARIANT nbs Sickle Cell Program is a reference HPLC method with high resolution hemoglobin variant screening (HbS, HbC, HbD, HbE), that also provides smart reports with presumptive pattern identification.
The use of FADC/FAES controls increases confidence in normal and clinically significant hemoglobin variant detection.
The VARIANT nbs System is the established worldwide standard in automated newborn screening for sickle cell disease. With the VARIANT nbs System you get the total picture the first time allowing each baby to quickly receive the appropriate care and follow-up to alleviate parental concern.
