The ProteinChip SEND (surface-enhanced neat desorption) ID array incorporates energy absorbing matrix into the array surface to reduce the chemical noise in spectra often caused by application of a separate matrix layer.
The ProteinChip SEND ID array also incorporates a hydrophobic interaction functional group, allowing both on-chip cleanup of peptide samples as well as neat application of samples. With this array, the ProteinChip SELDI system can be used to analyze lower molecular weight species with fewer interfering peaks, significantly improving sensitivity.
