Aminex cation exchange resins are finely sized spherical HPLC grade cation exchange resins. Aminex beads are a styrene divinylbenzene copolymer with attached sulfonic acid functional groups, making these resins strong cation exchangers.

Aminex cation exchange resins are available in various crosslinkages. Crosslinking is the single most important factor affecting the chemical and physical properties or ion exchange resins: permeability, capacity, selectivity, and response to changes in ionic strength.

Aminex resins are suitable for high-speed, high-resolution HPLC analysis of amino acids, nucleic acids, organic acids, and carbohydrates, as well as phenols and phosphorylated metabolites. Some Aminex resins allow resolution of large biomolecules, such as tryptic digest peptides and oligosaccharides, as well as high fructose syrups and carboxylic acids.

Aminex resins are a cost-effective alternative for researchers who prefer to pack their own HPLC columns. Prepacked Aminex HPLC columns are also available.

Aminex resins are shipped in a vacuum dried state in such a way that, although the intrinsic water has been removed, the resin bead is still swollen and may be packed into a column without the need for further processing.
