Description
Choose economical, sensitive Flamingo Fluorescent Protein Gel Stain for the detection of denatured proteins in gels including first-dimension isoelectric focusing (IEF) gels. The dye is non-fluorescent in solution and becomes strongly fluorescent on binding to protein.
- Linear response over 3 orders of magnitude, with a lower limit of 0.25–0.5 ng
- No destaining required, and gels cannot be overstained
- Low background; readily distinguish spots and speckles
- Stain may be exposed to typical room light for up to 8 hours without affecting the fluorescence intensity of stained protein bands or spots
- Stained gels may be stored in the dark at 2–8°C for up to 6 months without significant loss of imaging sensitivity
Flamingo Fluorescent Protein Gel Stain can be visualized with laser-based gel imaging systems or UV detectors (Ex 512 nm, Em 535 nm, secondary Ex 271 nm; see Specifications tab for laser/emission filter compatibility). The staining procedure is a simple two-step protocol that can be completed in as little as 5 hours. The steps are not time-sensitive. Stained proteins are compatible with mass spectrometry and enzymatic digestion.
