Overview
Bio-Rad Mini Sub-Cell systems are used for horizontal electrophoresis and are standard equipment in research labs around the world. Use the same equipment in your classroom to teach DNA agarose gel electrophoresis.
Mini-Sub Cell GT Cell
Fast and durable, the Mini-Sub Cell GT Cell is our most popular classroom gel box. A 7 x 10 cm agarose gel poured with two 8-well combs easily accommodates two student teams at a time.
Use of these electrophoresis chambers requires a PowerPac Power Supply. One PowerPac Power Supply can connect to up to four Mini-Sub Cell units, and the power supply can be used in protein electrophoresis applications, as well.
The Bio-Rad Mini-Sub Cell GT Systems gives you the flexibility to customize your separations. At 100 V, the Mini-Sub Cell GT Cell resolves DNA fragments from 20–20,000 base pairs in just under 30 min. By adjusting the run conditions, you can complete most classroom separations in 10 minutes!

Mini ReadySub-Cell GT Cell
The Mini ReadySub-Cell GT gel box is similar to the Mini-Sub Cell GT chamber but is dedicated to running ReadyAgarose precast gels for economy, convenience, and consistency. ReadyAgarose gel trays lock into the ReadySub-Cell GT chambers so that the gels will not move or float during electrophoresis runs. The Mini ReadySub-Cell GT cell does not include casting gates, tray, or combs.
