Description
Use the ReadyPrep 2-D Cleanup Kit to remove contaminants and concentrate protein samples for isoelectric focusing (IEF), 2-D gel electrophoresis, and any other application where protein sample cleanup or concentration is needed. The kit improves 2D resolution and reproducibility.
- Remove contaminants such as salts, lipids, detergents, nucleic acids and phenolic compounds
- Concentrate proteins in dilute samples
- Reduce streaking, background staining, and other artifacts
- Clean up protein samples in any form; precipitation is unaffected by the presence of chaotropes, detergents, common buffers, salts and other reagents commonly used in protein preparations
- Resuspend protein in any IEF/2DE-compatible or other rehydration/sample buffer
The TCA-like precipitation removes ionic contaminants from samples. Proteins are quantitatively precipitated and concentrated, with substances that can interfere with IEF or other applications being washed away. Dilute samples can be concentrated for higher protein loads and enhanced spot detection. The isoelectric points of the proteins in the purified sample remain unaltered.
