Machined Vinyl Sharkstooth Combs and Spacers
Vinyl sharkstooth combs and spacers are machined to maintain a uniform and precise thickness throughout the length of each spacer and comb, and among all vinyl spacers and combs. All spacers and sharkstooth combs are available in a thickness of 0.4 mm. Sharkstooth combs are available in 15 and 30 cm lengths and a range of well formats.
Microplate/Multichannel Pipet-Compatible Combs
Machined vinyl combs incorporating microplate/multichannel pipet (MP)-compatible well spacing are available in sharkstooth and well-forming formats. MP sharkstooth combs come with 34, 68, or 100 wells in a thickness of 0.4 mm. MP well-forming combs are available with 34 and 68 wells in a thickness of 0.4 mm. The MP combs make gel loading fast and simple.
Machined Vinyl Wedge Spacers
Wedge spacers increase the number of readable bases per lane in a sequencing gel. The use of wedge spacers results in a gel that becomes gradually thicker toward the bottom. As thickness increases, resistance, voltage, and DNA mobility decrease. The resulting gel has bands more closely spaced at the bottom. Wedge spacers allow the use of standard acrylamide solutions and buffers, eliminating the need for buffer gradient gels. Machined wedge spacers are available in 40 and 50 cm lengths, and in 0.4 to 1.2 mm thicknesses.
Plastic Combs and Spacers
Sequi-Gen plastic combs and spacers come in a thickness of 0.4 mm. Well-forming combs are 14 and 31 cm wide. All plastic well-forming combs, sharkstooth combs, and spacers are made of an inert plastic that does not catalyze or inhibit acrylamide polymerization. Thus, the combs are easy to remove without damaging the sample loading wells.
