Description

Bio-Rad’s ASCA EIA kits are intended for the semi-quantitative and qualitative determination of IgA or IgG antibodies to cell wall proteoglycans of Saccharomyces cerevisiae in human serum. ASCA assays aid in the diagnosis of Crohn’s disease, a chronic inflammatory disorder of the gastrointestinal tract. Saccharomyces cerevisiae is commonly known as baker’s yeast or brewer’s yeast. A positive anti-Saccharomyces cerevisiae antibodies (ASCA) test and a negative perinuclear anti-neutrophil cytoplasmic antibody (p-ANCA) test help to differentiate Crohn’s disease from ulcerative colitis, the other form of inflammatory bowel disease.

Bio-Rad’s Autoimmune ASCA EIA kits feature common protocols and common reagents. All reagents and reagent bottle caps are color-coded for ease of use. Test operation is further streamlined with breakaway wells and easy automation.
