Pneumocystis jirovecii — Immunofluorescence

Bio-Rad’s MONOFLUO Pneumocystis jirovecii IFA Test Kit is a direct immunofluorescence assay (DFA) for the detection of all P. jirovecii life cycle forms in specimens collected from the respiratory tract. Using a monoclonal antibody-based assay labeled with fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC) in a direct, one-step process, this test is highly accurate and reliable, with 100 percent sensitivity and 95.8 percent specificity. The kit is ready-to-use kit for rapid turnaround: complete slide staining in less than 45 minutes, slide reading in about three minutes and results in less than one hour.
