Description
Description
Use transparent MUG/EC Microplates for E. coli Testing for miniaturized testing using Most Probable Number (MPN) estimation of fecal contamination in all types of water sample including bathing, waste, and surface water. Hydrolysis of 4-methylumbelliferyl-β-D-glucuronide (MUG) by the enzyme, β-D-glucuronidase, present in E. coli, is detected by UV fluorescence.
Features and Benefits
- Test all types of water including samples with high levels of suspended matter
- Quantitative detection of E. coli in sludge, soil, soil improvers, growing media, and bio-waste
- Method requires no growth in broth or on agar plates
- Microplate format permits dilutions and replicates of a sample on the same plate
- Simple and economical detection with long wavelength UV lamps
- Use Fluoplate™2 Software (3591790) for analysis and full traceability reports
Product Contents
- Individually packaged 96-well transparent microplates containing dehydrated substrate, MUG, in each well — 25
- Transparent adhesive strips — 28
- Instruction manual — 1
Validations
Standardized through EN ISO 9308-3 (1999) and EN ISO 7899-1 (1999). MUG microplates are recommended for the quantitative detection of E. coli in sludge, soil, soil improvers, growing media, and bio-waste in European Technical Report FD CENT/TR 15214-2 in April 2006.
