Vertical Cell Runs Up to Four Mini Gels in Less Than One Hour

HERCULES, CA — March 19, 2008 — Bio-Rad Laboratories, Inc. (AMEX: BIO and BIOb), a multinational manufacturer and distributor of life science research products and clinical diagnostics, today announced the new Bio-Rad Mini-PROTEAN® Tetra system for vertical mini gel electrophoresis. The cell can run up to 4 mini gels in less than hour or 2-D gels in less than a day.

Easy to assemble with a patented sealing mechanism to prevent leaks, the new Mini-PROTEAN Tetra cell system includes a convenient casting stand for hand casting and the ability to run either handcast or precast gels. The instrument"s interchangeable module design allows its tank to be used for protein transfer with a mini trans-blot module.

For added user convenience, the new Tetra cell lid is designed to ensure correct electrode polarity and electrode assembly orientation. Helpful guidelines are added on the tank to indicate how much buffer to add for two-gel and four-gel electrophoresis.
