The acquisition of Stilla by Bio-Rad was finalized on 06/30/2025. Click here to read the full press release.
Over time, certain Stilla functions will be integrated into Bio-Rad’s organization. The intention is to create a transition that maintains our focus on supporting customers while expanding access to ddPCR technologies.
Stilla customers should continue to use the existing Stilla customer support contacts for re-orders and support unless notified of a change.
Yes, as part of the transition into the Bio-Rad suite of ddPCR instruments, the Nio will be relaunched under the Bio-Rad family as the QX700™ series. There will be three instrument offerings: QX700 E, QX700 S, and QX700 HT.
Bio-Rad's service and support team will be trained to provide exceptional service to existing Nio and Naica users. We will continue to provide consumables that are currently in use to avoid disruptions to investigators' research.
Nio: The Nio will transition into the Bio-Rad QX700 series. After the transition is complete, Nio configurations will no longer be available. Any customer that has purchased (and has not shipped) or is in the process of purchasing a Nio system or needs to purchase a system in the next 90 days can purchase a Nio system.
Naica: Stilla had previously announced an end of life/end of service for the Naica systems. Naica customers may continue to purchase consumables to use with these systems until further notice.
Ruby Chips: Bio-Rad will continue to supply Ruby chips and other consumables to Nio users.
Existing Nio and Naica system users will continue to have access to their platforms in the same manner that they have in the past.
We don’t anticipate any disruptions to product availability or delivery timelines. Existing orders for the Nio series of instruments will be delivered or if desired, converted to the newly configured, QX700 series equivalent. Existing customers will not see a disruption in the availability of Ruby chips or other consumables.
