Ordering Products Online


  • Viewing Product Pricing

    List prices are displayed for guest users or for registered users who don't have a Bio-Rad business account. Registered users with a Bio-Rad business account but who have not logged in will also see list prices. Account pricing is displayed for logged in registered users with a Bio-Rad business account.

    Product pricing can be viewed in several ways:

    • Enter the product catalog number in the Quick Order form on the Bio-Rad.com home page or on your My Bio-Rad page; when you enter the number, you will be taken directly to your cart where the product pricing is displayed
    • Click Cart or the cart icon at the far top right of most site pages; in the Shopping Cart tab, enter the product catalog number in the Quick Add box and click Add (product pricing per unit displays in the List Price or Account Price column (above the Quick Add box) and quantity pricing displays in the Total column)
    • Click Product View on the left side of a product category page; in the product view, click See Catalog Items; see product pricing per unit on the ordering overlay
    • Click the Ordering tab on product pages and view pricing per unit (see the Shopping Cart tab Total column for quantity pricing)

    Adding Items to Cart

    You can add items to your cart using various methods:

    • Enter the literature or product catalog number in the Quick Order form on the Bio-Rad.com home page or on your My Bio-Rad page; when you enter the number and quantity, you'll be taken directly to your cart
    • Click Cart or the cart icon at the far top right of most site pages; in the cart tab, enter the literature or product catalog number in the Quick Add box and click Add
    • Click Product View on a product category page; click See Catalog Items in the product view; enter product quantity and click Add to Cart on the ordering overlay (the Add to Cart button will change to say In Cart); continue adding items to your cart from any product category or product page, as needed
    • Click the Ordering tab on product pages, enter product quantity, and click Add to Cart (the Add to Cart button will change to say In Cart); continue adding items to your cart from any product or product category page, as needed

    When adding items from product category or product pages, click Cart or the cart icon at the far top right of most site pages when ready to check out or review your cart.

    Note: In the cart tab, review your order and make changes as needed, such as adding or removing items or updating quantities. If making changes, click Update Cart. Before checking out, you have the option to apply promotion codes if any to your cart (see the Redeeming Your Promotion Code Help section below for more information).

    Redeeming Your Promotion Code

    Prior to checking out, enter your promotion code in the Promotion Code box at the bottom of your shopping cart and click Apply.

    You can apply multiple promotion codes to your shopping cart by repeating this process. Please note that our promotions are dependent on certain criteria, such as the promotion code validity period or specific product eligibility.

    Once you've applied your promotion code, the code and discount savings will be displayed beneath the associated product in your shopping cart.

    Note: We apply a "best price" policy for promotions, so if your account price is less than the promotion price, your account price will be applied.

    Viewing promotions — For information on current promotions, go to the Promotions page for the Bio-Rad product area you're interested in.

    Navigate to a Promotions page from the:

    • Promotions box on the right side of each product area's home page and on product pages
    • Product area dropdown menu from the main navigation bar on the Bio-Rad.com home page

    We also run promotions in advertisements, mailings, and other company materials.


    Checking Out/Completing Your Transaction

    When your cart is ready and any promotions have been applied:

    1. Click Check Out (you'll be asked to log in if you haven't done so, or to register for a Bio-Rad account if you don't have one; once you've logged in or registered, you'll be returned to your shopping cart).
    2. On the following site pages, enter your information in all required fields and choose your method of payment.
    3. Review your order again, and when ready click Place Order to complete your transaction.

    Placing a Quick Order or Reorder

    If you already know the catalog numbers for products you want to order, you can save time by using our convenient Quick Order form.

    To use the Quick Order form:

    1. Click Quick Order in the Find Products & Information box on the home page, or use the Quick Order form in the Ordering section on your My Bio-Rad page.
    2. Enter the catalog number and quantity for each product you want to order.
    3. Click Check Out to go directly to your shopping cart.

    To review order details and reorder the same items:

    1. From your My Bio-Rad Order History page, click an order number in the first column to go to the View Order page and see details of that order.
    2. On the View Order page, on the toolbar next to the order number title, click Reorder to reorder the same items.

    Or reorder the same items directly from the cart tab:

    1. Click Cart or the cart icon at the far top right of most site pages.
    2. Select a saved cart from Saved Carts to the right.
    3. In the cart tab, on the toolbar next to the cart name, click Reorder to reorder the same items.

    Creating and Managing Multiple Shopping Carts

    Create and save multiple shopping carts to have a variety of shopping lists for quick ordering.

    To create and save a custom cart (you must be a registered user and logged in):

    1. Click Cart or the cart icon at the far top right of most site pages.
    2. Click Create in the cart toolbar located just above the ordering section in the Shopping Cart tab.
    3. Enter a name for the cart and click Submit. The cart is now saved.

    Access your saved carts from the Saved Carts box (displays when you have saved carts) on the right side of the Shopping Cart, Quote Request, and Hot List tabs or from the Saved Shopping Carts section in the Ordering module on your My Bio-Rad page.

    Note: Use the other cart toolbar options Copy, Rename, Email, and Print to manage your carts.

    To place an order for a saved shopping cart, open the cart and click Check Out.


    Creating and Managing Hot Lists

    You can save time later by creating a hot list — a list of items ordered on a regular basis or items that you'd like to order in the future. Hot lists simplify the shopping process and eliminate the need to repeat the same steps each time you order the same products.

    If you're registered and logged in, you can add a product to your hot list in several ways:

    • Click Cart or the cart icon at the far top right of most site pages; in the Hot List tab, enter the literature or product catalog number in the Quick Add box and click Add
    • Click Product View on a product category page; click See Catalog Items in the product view; enter product quantity and click Add to Hot List on the ordering overlay (the Add to Hot List button will change to say In Hot List); continue adding items to your hot list from any product category or product page, as needed
    • Click the Ordering tab on product pages, enter product quantity and click Add to Hot List (the Add to Hot List button will change to say In Hot List); continue adding items to your hot list from any product or product category page, as needed

    To review a hot list, click Cart or the shopping cart icon in the top right corner of most site pages, and then click the Hot List tab. If you have other saved hot lists, you can access them from the Hot Lists box on the Shopping Cart, Quote Request, and Hot List tab pages or on your My Bio-Rad page.

    You can update your hot list by adding or removing products or changing the quantities and clicking Update Hot List. Use the other Hot List tab toolbar options Copy, Rename, Email, and Print to manage your hot lists.

    To place an order based on your hot list, click Check Out in the Hot List tab.


    Canceling an Order

    To cancel an existing online or offline order, please contact Customer Service.


    Checking Order Status and Order History

    If you're logged in and have an active Bio-Rad account number, you can view the status of your most recent orders from your My Bio-Rad page or the status of all your orders from your My Bio-Rad Order History page.

    • My Bio-Rad page — Select an individual order under Order History in the Ordering module, and on the View Order page look for the order status under the order number heading
    • Order History page — Order status is displayed in the table at the bottom of the Order History page (to go to the page, click Order History on the left side of your My Bio-Rad page or click See all under Order History in the Ordering module on your My Bio-Rad page)

    The Order History page lists online order history from most recent to oldest. Each order is listed with its order number, web reference number, order date, total, and status. You can search your online order history using any or all of the search criteria: Order #, Web Reference #, PO #, Date Range, Order Status.

    Order status includes the following conditions:

    • Cancelled — Entire order is cancelled
    • In process — Order submitted to ERP (enterprise resource planning) for order fulfillment
    • On account verification hold — Order was submitted without account number and needs to be verified
    • On account pricing hold — System is not available to check account pricing
    • Order submitted — Order placed successfully without any hold
    • Partially shipped — Some items have shipped
    • Pending approval — Waiting for approval of business account administrator
    • Rejected by administrator — Order has been denied
    • Shipped — All items have shipped

    You can also search for and view the status of orders placed via phone or fax by clicking Offline Orders and then entering available search criteria for offline orders.

    Note: For online orders, you can also view other information about your order, including order date and order total. When you select an individual order to review, you can also see information such as quantities, pricing, and delivery and payment details. For offline orders, you can see your order status but other information about the order is limited.

    Checking order status by phone — You can also check your order status by calling your local Bio-Rad office or 1-800-4BIORAD xEBIZ (1-800-424-6723 x3249).


    Requesting a Quote

    You can submit a quote request online using the form in the Quote Request tab.

    Add items to the Quote Request tab using any of the following methods:

    • Click Cart or the cart icon in the header of most site pages (on the next page, click the Quote Request tab to access the quote request form)
    • Click Quick Order on the Bio-Rad.com home page (enter catalog numbers and quantities and click Get Quote; you'll be taken to the Quote Request tab)
    • Use the Quick Order form on your My Bio-Rad page (enter catalog numbers and quantities and click Get Quote; you'll be taken to the Quote Request tab)
    • Click Product View on a product category page; click See Catalog Items in the product view; enter product quantity and click Add to Quote on the ordering overlay (the Add to Quote button will change to say In Quote); continue adding items to your quote request from any product category or product page, as needed
    • Click the Ordering tab on a product page (enter product quantity and click Add to Quote (the Add to Quote button will change to say In Quote); continue adding items to your quote request from any product category or product page, as needed

    When adding items from product category or product pages, click Cart or the cart icon at the far top right of most site pages when ready to review your quote request in the Quote Request tab.

    To submit your quote request in the Quote Request tab:

    1. Specify the date you need to receive the quote and the date you plan to purchase the item(s).
    2. To send a copy of the quote request to an associate, such as your purchasing manager, click Email in the Quote Request tab and complete the Email Quote Request form.
    3. To send a copy of the completed quote to an associate, enter an email address and optional message in the Email Quote to Colleague box at the bottom of the page.
    4. When ready to submit your quote request, click Submit.

    Note: You can prepare your quote request without logging in, but you will be required to log in to submit the request online. After you submit the quote request, a local sales representative will contact you. In the U.S., you should receive a response to a quote request within 48 hours. If you do not, please call Customer Service at 1-800-4BIORAD (1-800-424-6723).

    Requesting a quote by phone or email — You can also request a quote by calling your local Bio-Rad office or by email at lsg.quotes.us@bio-rad.com.


    Reviewing Quote Request History

    You can review your quote request history on your My Bio-Rad page by clicking Quote Request History (at top left side of page) or by clicking See all under Quote Request History in the Ordering module (middle of the page).

    Your quote request history is listed from most recent to oldest. On the Quote Request History page, each quote request is listed with its quote request number, submittal and need-by dates, and quote request name.

    To access detailed information about a specific quote request, click the quote request number in the list.


Using the Assay Builder to Order Custom-Blended Bio-Plex x-Plex Assays


  • Accessing the Assay Builder

    On the Bio-Plex suspension array system product page, click Bio-Plex Assay Builder on the left side of the page. On the Bio-Plex Assay Builder page, review the description, ordering, and shipping information and then click Launch Assay Builder at the bottom of the page to begin using the Assay Builder.

    Ordering by Catalog Number

    In the Assay Builder:

    1. Enter a catalog number in the catalog number lookup field, then click Look Up (the checkboxes in the analyte list will be automatically checked based on the catalog number you enter).
    2. Review the Note section below the list of analytes for important information about your assay.
    3. Click Next Step.
    4. Click Submit Request for a configured x-Plex assay (Note: You can also add required and optional products to your shopping cart from this page. Click Add to Cart for these products before submitting your request for a configured assay).
    5. Select a sample type from the Sample Type dropdown menu on the contact information form.
    6. Click an ordering option under Intent to Order.
    7. Enter your contact information so that we can send you a confirmation email.
    8. Click the Privacy Policy checkbox if you have read and agree to the Bio-Rad.com Privacy Policy.
    9. Click Submit.

    You will receive a confirmation email with additional information about ordering your assay


    Ordering by Assay Group

    In the Assay Builder:

    1. Select an Assay group and Package Size from the dropdown menus (the list of analytes will change based on your assay group selection).
    2. Click the checkboxes for the desired analytes. Note: Some analytes are not multiplexable with other analytes; in such instances, checkboxes will be disabled and a message will appear in the Note section.
    3. Review the Note section below the analyte list for important information about your assay.
    4. Click Next Step.
    5. Click Submit Request for a configured x-Plex assay. Note: You can also add required and optional products to your shopping cart from this page. Click Add to Cart for these products before submitting your request for a configured assay.
    6. Select a sample type from the Sample Type dropdown menu on the contact information form.
    7. Click an ordering option under Intent to Order.
    8. Enter your contact information so that we can send you a confirmation email with an authorized catalog number and pricing information.
    9. Click the Privacy Policy checkbox if you have read and agree to the Bio-Rad.com Privacy Policy.
    10. Click Submit.

    You will receive a confirmation email with additional information about ordering your assay.

    Orders for custom assays may be placed after you have received confirmation with an authorized catalog number and pricing information. In the U.S., if you receive confirmation before 2:30 PM Pacific time, you may order your Bio-Plex Express or Bio-Plex x-Plex assay the next business day. If you receive confirmation after 2:30 PM Pacific time, you may order your assay on the second business day. This process will vary depending upon the local office.

    Bio-Plex Express assays are shipped within two U.S. business days to all U.S. destinations. Bio-Plex x-Plex assays are shipped within 12 U.S. business days to all U.S. destinations. International customers, please add transit time from the U.S.


Help for Account Administrators and Purchasing Managers Who Use Bio-Rad.com

If you are an account administrator or purchasing manager, your My Bio-Rad page offers extra tools to help you manage your transactions, including reviewing and approving pending orders and managing user profiles.


  • Reviewing and Approving Pending Orders

    Orders that exceed the purchasing limit of a user in your group will be placed on hold pending your approval.

    To review, approve, or deny pending orders:

    1. Log in and go to your My Bio-Rad page.
    2. To quickly see the most recent pending orders, look under Approve Pending Orders in the Ordering section on your My Bio-Rad page; click an individual order to review and approve or deny.
    3. To see all pending orders, click Approve Pending Orders (at upper left side of your My Bio-Rad page) or click See all under Approve Pending Orders in the Ordering section on your My Bio-Rad page.
    4. In your pending order queue, click a specific order to review.
    5. Click Approve or Deny at the bottom of the page, add any comments, and click Submit.

    Note: Once you've approved or denied an order, it will no longer be displayed in your pending orders queue.


    Managing User Profiles

    You can manage existing user profiles on your My Bio-Rad/User Administration page, acccessible by clicking User Administration at the upper left side of your My Bio-Rad page or See all in the Manage User Profiles box under the left-side navigation links.

    On your User Administration page, you can:

    • Add a new user by clicking Add New User and completing the user registration form (Note: The Add New User button is also available from the Manage User Profiles box on your My Bio-Rad page)
    • Deactivate a user in your user list by checking the Inactive checkbox on the same row as the user's name (and click Submit)
    • Review or edit an existing user profile by selecting the user's name from your user list; on the user's profile summary page, you can review or edit a user's country, language, account information, spending limit, and interests (Note: You can also select users from the Manage User Profiles box on your My Bio-Rad page)

Payment Information


  • Purchase Orders

    Bio-Rad accepts purchase orders for online orders from customers who have established credit terms with the company. To apply for credit, please download the credit application form.

    Once you have submitted your application and we have verified your credit information, you can begin placing online orders with a purchase order. It will take 1–2 business days to verify your credit information.

    When you place an order with a purchase order, we will mail you an invoice when the product(s) ships. In general, payment terms are net 30 days from date of invoice unless you have made special arrangements with Bio-Rad.


    Using a Credit Card

    You can place orders using a credit card if you have not established credit terms with Bio-Rad. Currently, we accept the following credit cards:

    • American Express
    • MasterCard
    • Visa

    Note: You must be registered and have an active Bio-Rad account for your order to be processed. If you are registered but cannot find your Bio-Rad account number or do not have one, you can still place your order but the order will be put on hold until an account number is verified or created.

    To set up a Bio-Rad business account if you have already completed basic registration:

    1. Download an account application form and fax the completed form to 1-510-741-5800.
    2. After your form is submitted, we will contact you to set up a Bio-Rad account.

    To both register and set up a Bio-Rad business account:

    1. Click Log In/Register at the top right corner of most site pages.
    2. On the login screen, click Register Today, complete the easy online registration form, and follow the instructions on the following pages for setting up a Bio-Rad business account.

    Tax Exemption

    If your organization benefits from tax exemption, please fax your Tax Exempt Certificate to our Customer Service office at 510-741-5607. In the Attention field, please write "Tax". We always charge applicable sales tax if we do not receive a Tax Exempt Certificate.


    Invoices

    If you wish to receive a hard copy of your invoice, please contact Customer Service.


    Return Policy

    All returns require preauthorization from Bio-Rad. Contact your local Bio-Rad office to arrange for authorization. A nominal restocking fee will be charged for returned items, unless Bio-Rad is responsible for shipping the wrong item. Note: If an item does not work as expected, please first contact your local Bio-Rad office for technical support.

    • Damaged items — If an item has been damaged during shipment, please report the damage to Customer Service. Keep all containers and packing materials for inspection
    • Equipment returns — Equipment must be accompanied with a Bio-Rad decontamination certificate
    • Items shipped with dry or blue ice — Erroneously ordered items cannot be returned if they require shipment on dry or blue ice

Shipping & Delivery


  • Shipping Options

    Domestic orders are shipped using DHL or Federal Express, depending upon destination. Packages usually arrive within 1 to 2 business days. Please consult the View Order page (My Bio-Rad/OrderHistory/View Order) for a particular order to track shipment for that order. Special shipping services are available upon request by contacting Customer Service.

    The majority of online orders for in-stock items placed prior to 1:00 p.m. Pacific time will ship the same business day. All temperature-sensitive products must ship via an overnight service to ensure product integrity. If you need to place an order after 1:00 p.m. Pacific time for overnight delivery, please call Customer Service to have the order expedited for same-day shipping.

    Hazardous materials or dangerous goods are packed and shipped in accordance with the U.S. Department of Transportation (US DOT), International Air Transport Association (IATA), and International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) requirements, as appropriate.

    Please be aware that custom products may have a manufacturing timeline prior to shipment.


    Checking Order Status

    If you're logged in, you can check the status of online orders from your My Bio-Rad/Order History page (click Order History at top left side of the page or See all under Order History in the Ordering module in the middle of the page).

    Tracking Shipments

    You can track shipped orders from the View Order page, accessible from your My Bio-Rad page. The Shipping Information column displays a shipment tracking number (underlined and highlighted) for all shipped products. To track a shipment, click the tracking number link to access the carrier website.

  • How Do I Place an Order Offline or by Email?

    Can I Check the Status of an Order Offline?

    You can check your order status by calling your local Bio-Rad office or by calling 1-800-4BIORAD xEBIZ (1-800-424-6723 x3249).

    Do You Have Special Ordering, Custom Services, and Bulk Packaging?

    Bio-Rad provides custom ordering and services. Many products can also be supplied in bulk; request a quote for price and delivery information for bulk orders. Contact your local Bio-Rad office for more information.
