Search Tips
Optimize your site searches with the search tips described below.

Narrowing Results
By default, the search function searches for all terms you enter into the search field. For example, searching for 'Ready Gel' will bring up all items containing the words 'ready' and 'gel'. To narrow your results, enclose your search term in double quotation marks. To narrow your results even further, enclose a more complete or full product name in quotation marks, for example, "Ready Gel precast gel" (partial name) or "Ready Gel zymogram gel" (full name).

Case Sensitivity
The search engine is not case sensitive. For example, you'll get the same results by entering 'membrane', 'Membrane', or 'MEMBRANE'.

Singular vs. Plural
Search results include pages containing the plural or singular of the word(s) entered in the Search field. For example, searching for 'membrane' also results in pages that include the word 'membranes'.

Similar Words
Search results include pages containing words similar to the term(s) entered in the Search field. For example, searching for 'blot' includes pages that include 'blotting' and 'blotted'.

Special Characters
Avoid using special characters, such as `, ~, @, #, $, %, ^, &, (, ), =, +, <, >, which will be omitted by the search engine.
Searching Entire Site
Search Bio-Rad.com using the Search Box located on the top right area of the home page and all site pages.
Filter Your Search Results
Search results are ranked, or sorted, by relevancy. On the Search Results page, you can use either the tabs or the left-side filtering options to refine your search.

Tabs
The tabs allow you to filter your search results by Products, Categories, Documents, Downloads, and General Information.

Left Side Filters
The left hand menu will allow you to further refine your search. The filtering choices will vary depending on the search term entered (some search terms may have hits in more than one prodcut division) and the tab selected. Options include: Division (product area), Products, Categories, Documents, Downloads, and General Information.
Once you've filtered your search using one of the filtering options, you may see a different set of filtering options (if available for your search term). You can then filter your search further using one of those options. You can repeat this sequence until no new filtering options are presented.
At any time during the process, you can clear any of your filters to see a more comprehensive set of results or reset all of your filters to see the original search results by using the Reset All button.
Product Search
Search for products by partial or complete product name, by keywords, or by catalog number (with or without a hyphen). Select the Products tab for search results that include only relevant product pages and then refine your search results by selecting the product type in the left side menu.
Document Search
Select the Documents tab to quickly find available literature related to your search item. You can further refine your search results by selecting the document type in the left side menu. Click on See More to see all option available.
Available documents include:
- Manuals and quick guides
- Application notes
- Articles and whitepapers
- Brochures and specifications
- Scientific posters
- Product information sheets
- Protocols
- Newsletters and magazines
- Catalogs
- FAQs

Note: FAQs are available online for Life Science Research, Process Separations, and Life Science Education product areas. For other Bio-Rad product areas, contact Technical Support if FAQs are not available from online searches.

Note: Certificates of Analysis for all product areas can be obtained from the Find a Certificate of Analysis box located on:
From the Search Results page, you can:
- Click the document title to open the document; when the document is open, you can save it to your computer or print it
- Click Add to Cart, if available in the search result, to order a printed version of the document (some documents are available only in printed format; most printed documents are free of charge, unless otherwise stated)
- Click Log In to access documents that require user registration
Note: Documents relating to discontinued products are available only as PDFs and are noted as such.
Material Safety Data Sheet Search
You can also enter the product name, chemical name, or catalog number (with or without hyphen) and filter the results by selecting MSDS in the Documents filter on the left-hand side filtering options of the Search Results page. The MSDS may be available in multiple languages, depending on your country.
Note: Our MSDS database is updated periodically, so a new product MSDS may not be in the database.
Support Search
Bio-Rad.com provides a wide array of online support information, including product tutorials, webinars, FAQs, and a wide range of instructional and informational literature.
Search for support information using the search box located on the home page and at the top right of most site pages. Search the entire site for the widest range of support information:
- Select Support to search for FAQs, software downloads, and services/programs offered on Bio-Rad.com Support pages
- Select Documents to search for instruction manuals, quick guides, specifications, product information sheets, FAQs, and other related literature
- Select MSDS to search for available online MSDSs
