VxWorks Vulnerabilities (URGENT/11)

HERCULES, CA – September 26, 2019 – Bio-Rad Laboratories, Inc. (NYSE: BIO and BIOb), a global leader of life science research and clinical diagnostic products issued a statement related to critical security vulnerabilities recently reported in the VxWorks real-time operating system.

VxWorks is used in hardware instrumentation such as patient monitors, industrial controllers, robotics, firewalls, routers, modems and printers. These vulnerabilities are referred to as "URGENT/11."

Bio-Rad has investigated our Clinical Diagnostics products. None of our instruments are affected. We are still investigating whether there is an impact on any peripherals that Bio-Rad offers (e.g. printers and firewall) as accessories to our instruments.

Bio-Rad recommends that customers check the specific models of these peripherals that are used by the lab. Customers are advised to consult the manufacturer's website for more information regarding URGENT/11.
