This aluminum foil acts as a barrier against evaporation from –70°C to 105°C. It is thin enough to pierce with a pipet tip for recovery of samples from individual wells, and it is suitable for use with automated systems such as the ABI 3700 DNA analyzer. In addition to cold storage applications, it can be used for thermal cycling with sample volumes of 25 µl (96-well) or 5 µl (384-well). The foil is free of DNase, RNase, and human DNA.
