Bio-Rad 0.2 ml and 0.5 ml individual tubes are made of thin-wall polypropylene and are designed to fit precisely in Bio-Rad thermal cycler reaction blocks to ensure optimal heat transfer to the sample. Extremely tight-sealing caps allow low-volume reactions. PCR volume ranges are 5–125 µl for 0.2 ml tubes and 10–200 µl for 0.5 ml tubes. All PCR tubes are process-sampled and tested to be negative for DNase, RNase, and human DNA.
The 0.2 ml individual tubes are available with attached domed caps, with attached flat caps, or without caps. The 0.5 ml individual tubes are available with attached flat caps in two packaging sizes (2 bags of 500 or 8 bags of 100). The smaller packaging size can help prevent accidental contamination from multiple users. The flat caps for both 0.2 ml and 0.5 ml tubes are frosted for easy labeling. They are not suitable for real-time PCR.
