Choose the correct Econo-Column chromatography column by length and inner diameter. The corresponding flow adapter is shown with the columns. A flow adapter is not needed for ID's of 0.5 or 0.7 cm. A dash ( – ) indicates that the column is not available in that configuration (L, ID, or package type).

Connecting a Flow Adaptor

Econo-Column™ chromatography columns are high-quality, low-pressure, glass chromatography columns. These highly versatile columns range in size from 5 to 170 cm long and 0.5 to 5.0 cm in diameter. A porous polymer bed support at the bottom of the column retains fine particles, and translucent polypropylene end fittings allow viewing of the entire column bed. Econo-Column chromatography columns are packaged in quantities of one, two, and four, depending on column diameter and length. All packages contain one stopcock per column ordered.

Jacketed Econo-Column columns are glass Econo-Columns with an integral water jacket for cooling or heating. Jacketed columns are used in applications requiring temperature control.

Features of Econo-Column chromatography columns include:

Simple packing and procedure running
Autoclavability and NaOH compatibility
Operation at pressures <1 bar (14.7 psi) or in gravity flow applications

Accessories

Econo-Column funnels and reservoirs are used for packing columns, loading diluted samples, or delivering large volumes of buffer.

Econo-Column flow adaptors improve column performance: they eliminate head space above the gel bed by protecting it from disruption during sample loading. Adaptors are used with 1.0, 1.5, 2.5, and 5.0 cm diameter columns.
