Prepacked Bio-Scale™ Mini cartridges have a patented* double-wall cartridge design that provides extra durability and allows easy, reliable runs at pressures up to 45 psi with aqueous buffers most commonly used for protein separation. The cartridges are prepacked with media for ion exchange, affinity, and hydroxyapatite and fluoroapatite chromatography. The cartridges are convenient, ready to use, and disposable, and the simple luer connections connect easily to any chromatography system (see bulletin 5326 under the Documents tab). Bio-Rad now offers UNOsphere™ Rapid S, UNOsphere SUPrA™, and CFT™ ceramic fluoroapatite media prepacked in Bio-Scale Mini cartridges and two kits: one for purification using apatite (CFT ceramic fluoroapatite and CHT™ ceramic hydroxyapatite) and one for monoclonal antibody purification.
UNOsphere Rapid S strong cation exchange media have enhanced chemistries to overcome the pH shift that occurs with conductivity transitions. The support quickly adjusts to changes in conductivity with minimal pH excursion. No pH shifting provides a new level of economy due to shorter equilibration times, resulting in faster separations and lower consumption of buffer solutions. The media have been optimized to deliver speed and throughput in capture and intermediate purification steps. UNOsphere Rapid S media combine high binding capacity, fast mass transfer, excellent flow characteristics, and robust physical properties to make it an exceptional choice for purification.
