Migration Patterns
Migration Patterns (10–250 kD)

Standard protein migration on Ready Gel® Tris-HCI precast gels. The banding patterns indicate the optimal separation ranges (in kD) for each acrylamide percentage in combinations with the specified buffer system. Migrations are based on the leading dye front being run to the bottom of a gel.

Precision Plus Protein™ prestained standards are available in All Blue, Dual Color, Kaleidoscope™, and Dual Xtra color options. All four have the same migration pattern and show exceptional lot-to-lot molecular weight consistency. These standards can all be used for accurate molecular weight estimation and monitoring electrophoresis and transfer efficiency. WesternC™ standard enables chemiluminescence detection when probed with StrepTactin-HRP conjugates, so the protein standard appears directly on film or CCD image.

Key Features:

  • All standards include 3 high-intensity reference bands (25, 50, 75 kD)
  • Fluorescent properties (see bulletins 5685 and 5723 for details). Blue bands from Precision Plus Protein All Blue, Dual Color, and Dual Xtra standards can be visualized with a 635 nm laser or red LED and pink bands can be visualized with a 532 nm laser or green LED. Note that the bands from 5 kD to 250 kD are only visible in fluorescent blots for the Dual Xtra standard. Bands from the Precision Plus Kaleidoscope standard of 15, 20, 37, 50, 100, 150, and 250 kD are visible with a 635 nm laser or red LED; those of 25 and 75 kD are visible with a 532 nm laser or green LED, and the 10 kD band is visible with a blue LED.
  • Dual Xtra standards consist of 12 recombinant proteins between 2 and 250 kD, all others consist of 10 recombinant proteins between 10 and 250 kD
  • MW markers confirmed by mass spectrometry
  • Strong linear relationship between the proteins' log molecular weight and relative migration distance on a gel
  • Prestained bands for monitoring of electrophoresis progression and assessment of blotting efficiency
