The Bio-Rad MainFrame lifting accessory, a passive device for all Bio-Rad process column lines, uses the column motor for lifting the adjustable height adaptor. It simplifies day-to-day chromatography processes by providing hoist-free operation during initial column preparation, inspection, maintenance, or postprocessing and cleaning.The Bio-Rad MainFrame lifting accessory is available in four categories for a predefined range of column diameters:
- MainFrame 450 for columns up to 450 mm
- MainFrame 1,000 for columns from 600 to 1,000 mm
- MainFrame 1,400 for columns from 1,200 to 1,400 mm
- MainFrame 2,000 for columns >1,400 mm
The Bio-Rad MainFrame lifting accessory can be used with multiple columns within its range, which ensures flexibility and saves required space in the manufacturing facility.
Compared with a hydraulic system embedded on a column, the Bio-Rad MainFrame accessory provides a safe and ergonomic way to remove part of a column and perform operations such as reslurrying a packed bed or replacing a filter. The accessory can be detached from the column so that cleaning and storage can be accomplished outside the cleanroom.
As an option, the electrical cabinet of the Bio-Rad packing motor can be mounted on the Bio-Rad MainFrame lifting accessory.
