Low-Pressure Chromatography Tubing

Bio-Rad supplies low-pressure tubing for most liquid-handling needs — both individually and as pump tubing kits.

Tubing Options

• Silicone tubing — recommended when biocompatibility is important. This material contains no cytotoxic extractables and has excellent wetting properties. It is autoclavable and may be heated for pyrogen removal. It may be damaged by concentrated acids and bases
• Tygon tubing — clear and tough, and will tolerate greater pressures than silicone. Its transparency makes it ideal for plumbing chromatography systems. However, it should not be autoclaved, and may be damaged by high concentrations of alcohol
• PharMed tubing — has a wider range of chemical compatibility than silicone or Tygon and is the ideal tubing material for use in the pumpheads of the Model EP-1 Econo pump, Econo gradient pump, and BioLogic LP system; PharMed tubing generally lasts 10 times longer than Tygon or silicone
• PTFE tubing — chemically inert; it can be used with virtually any reagent, and is stable to 400°C

Pump Tubing Kits
Precut tubing for the Model EP-1 Econo pump, Econo gradient pump, and BioLogic LP system is available in PharMed and silicone with a choice of 0.8, 1.6, or 3.2 mm ID. Each kit contains 20 pieces of precut pump tubing and four sets of luer fittings and tubing retainers.
