Rubella IgG and IgM EIAs

Rubella Indirect EIA Procedure


Step 1

  • Microplate: breakable wells dry-coated with antigen (Ag)


Step 2

  • Pipette 100 µL of diluted test samples, calibrators, or samples into the wells (1:51 for IgG/1:26 for IgM)
  • Incubate 30 minutes at room temperature
  • 4 washes


Step 3

  • Dispense 100 µL ready-to-use conjugate
  • Incubate 30 minutes at room temperature
  • 4 washes


Step 4

  • Dispense 100 µL of ready-to-use chromogen/substrate
  • Incubate 30 minutes at room temperature
  • Add 100 µL of ready-to-use Stop Reagent


Step 5

  • Read at 405 nm
  • Interpret results according to package insert instructions

Bio-Rad offers the Rubella IgG EIA assay for the qualitative, semi-quantitative, and quantitative detection of rubella IgG antibodies and the Rubella IgM EIA assay for the qualitative detection of rubella IgM antibodies in human serum. The IgG test is used as an aid in assessing patient immunological status to rubella. Using the IgM EIA in conjunction with IgG EIA allows identification of active infection and estimates the time of infection.

Bio-Rad offers a comprehensive menu of serology tests using standardized procedure and common reagents. The microplate format is convenient and simple to use, with color-coded wells. Results are normalized as index values. All serology tests are available in 96-test kits, designed for rapid turnaround and manual or automated use.
