Normalization of Real-Time PCR Fluorescence Data with ROX Passive Reference Dye

Question:

What components are in Bio-Rad real-time PCR supermixes?

Answer:

In addition to the standard PCR constituents, the advanced components in our supermixes include specially engineered polymerases as well as surfactants, optimized buffers, stabilizers, and other proprietary compounds designed to increase stability and efficiency.

Bio-Rad real-time PCR detection systems do not require ROX normalization, but our universal real-time PCR supermixes contain a latest-generation ROX reference dye to perform equally well on both ROX-dependent and ROX-independent real-time PCR detection systems.

See Normalization of Real-Time PCR Fluorescence Data with ROX Passive Reference Dye in our Applications and Technologies pages to learn why passive reference dyes are required for data normalization in some real-time PCR systems and not others.
