Overview
Bio-Rad offers two portable sources of UV light for detecting and visualizing green fluorescent protein (GFP), which fluoresces brilliant green when expressed in cells or cell extracts.
UV Pen Light
This pocket-size disposable lamp has the power needed to illuminate your experiments. The wavelength is optimized for green fluorescent protein activities, including Bio-Rad's pGLO™ bacterial transformation, GFP chromatography, and Secrets of the Rainforest™ kits.
Long-Wave UV Lamp
This convenient handheld long-wave UV lamp runs on four AA batteries and has a wavelength output between 300 and 400 nm. Designed for excitation of GFP, this lamp is ideal for use with Bio-Rad's pGLO bacterial transformation, GFP chromatography, and Secrets of the Rainforest kits. The acrylic safety shield protects the bulb and the user’s eyes.
