Goodpasture's Disease

Autoimmune IFA and EIA tests for Anti-Glomerular Basement Membrane (GBM) are intended to aid in the diagnosis of anti-GBM mediated diseases, including Goodpasture's disease.Patients with Goodpasture's disease can exhibit clinical features suggestive of certain types of autoimmune vasculitis. Therefore anti-GBM should be included in a vasculitis panel as part of the serum analysis of patients with suspected renopulmonary syndrome to help in the differential diagnostic. Anti-GBM antibodies are recognized as being important in the pathogenesis of rapidly progressive glomerulonephritis of Goodpasture's disease.
