The recent dramatic increase in the number of monoclonal antibodies (mAbs) entering biopharmaceutical product pipelines has created the need for highly efficient purification process development. The concept of platform purification has evolved in response to that need. Platforms are semi-generic multistep procedures that are applicable to most antibodies and result in good purification performance with minimal development.
